Field-based isolation and positive plant identification with mobility option

The SageSURPASS mobility option delivers two key functions:

• Field-based isolation and restoration activities
• Positive plant identification to prevent the wrong item of plant being isolated or restored

SageSURPASS Mobile has a number of configuration options to suit different site requirements such as lock-out and tag-out, or tag only, as well as one ore two-step isolation verification.

Workers use SageSURPASS mobile to select permits that they are authorised to work, scan the barcode of printed tags to ensure that they are the right tags for the permit selected, and then scan to match a lock.

SageSURPASS can be updated wirelessly or by docking the handheld device, subject to site requirements and device selection. Wirelessly updating SageSURPASS can enable permits to be issued to other personnel without having to wait for the isolating team to return to the permit office.

Another configuration option in SageSURPASS Mobile uses RFID technology to read plant labels to confirm that personnel are at the isolation point selected in SageSURPASS. Workers are not able to continue until the correct isolation point is selected.
